Chicago Sends Receiver to Miami for Draft Picks

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears have traded wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Bears will receive a 2025 seventh-round pick in return.

Claypool, 24, was acquired by the Bears in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 6, 2023. He had 24 receptions for 361 yards and two touchdowns in seven games with the Bears.

The move comes as the Bears continue to rebuild under first-year general manager Ryan Poles. The Bears have now traded away two of their top players this season, with linebacker Roquan Smith also being dealt to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Dolphins are in need of wide receiver help after trading away Tyreek Hill to the New York Jets in the offseason. Claypool will give Miami a young and talented target for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
