Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2022 Unveils Lineup
Celebrating Filipino Cinema
The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has unveiled the lineup for the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) which will run from September 8 to 14, 2022.
The festival, which is FDCP's flagship film festival, will feature eight films that depict both classic and contemporary Filipino cinema. One of them is the restored version of Himala, a classic film by the acclaimed director Ishmael Bernal. The film is about a young woman who claims to be performing miracles and the impact of her actions on a small Filipino village.
Another notable film is Katips, a documentary about the Philippine Revolution. The film, directed by Vince Tañada, tells the story of the unsung heroes of the revolution, including Katipunera Melchora Aquino and General Antonio Luna.
As part of the festival, the FDCP will also hold various film screenings, workshops, and exhibitions. The Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of Filipino cinema and to honor the people who make it possible. So come and be a part of the celebration!
