CSI Miami Star Evan Ellingson Dies of Accidental Overdose

Horatio Caine's Son in TV Series Passes Away at 37

Medical Examiner Confirms Fentanyl Toxicity as Cause of Death

Tragic news has emerged from California, as Evan Ellingson, the actor who portrayed Kyle Harmon, the son of Horatio Caine in the popular forensic series CSI: Miami, has died at the age of 37. The cause of death has been determined to be an accidental fentanyl overdose, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

Ellingson's character, Kyle Harmon, made his first appearance in the Season Six premiere of CSI: Miami. Throughout the series' 10 seasons, Kyle played a significant role, often assisting his father, Lieutenant Horatio Caine, and the Miami-Dade Police Department in their criminal investigations. The character left the show after Season 8 and returned briefly in Season 10.

Beyond his role in CSI: Miami, Ellingson also appeared in several other television shows, including Criminal Minds, Boston Public, and Greek. He also had a minor role in the 2006 film Firewall. However, it was his portrayal of Kyle Harmon that brought him the most recognition and endeared him to fans of the crime drama.

The news of Ellingson's tragic demise has sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry and the CSI: Miami fan community. David Caruso, who played Horatio Caine, expressed his condolences on social media, writing, "Evan Ellingson was a talented young actor, and his loss is a tragic reminder of the dangers of fentanyl."
